December 10, 2016 by lucy

Everyone wants a nice flat belly. But a lot of people find it difficult to lose belly fat which is a lot harder to get rid of than other areas of the body.

The main reason being that there are only quite a few things which can be done to reduce fat in the belly area. It cannot be done without proper exercise that is targeted to lose that particular muscle and lose weight in the area.

These tips should help you through the exercise process of losing weight in your belly.

1. Complex exercises

Moving more than two or three joints while working out aptly termed as performing complex exercises. For example, trying to do an exercise like pushups makes you move more than one joint. This makes it a complex exercise that will aid in weight loss. Doing complex exercises is great because they make use of many muscle groups while working out the body. This in turn makes the heart pump more blood and raise the body’s metabolism.

2.  Strength training

Many people are very worried about strength training and the kind of impact it would have on their muscles. Women especially stay away from strength training because they think they would end up looking like The Hulk!

3. Interval training

Every other day, incorporating high-impact interval training in your work out can work wonders in burning fat. The truth is that small amounts of exercises done at equal intervals are actually great at losing any belly fat that you might be harboring.

For example, while working out on the treadmill, you can walk really slow for 2 minutes and then run at the highest speed you can possibly do for the next 2 minutes. Doing this with every workout is great.

4.  Resistance training

Taking up different kinds of circuit training is a lot of fun and is a great way to burn fat very quickly and effectively. Doing about 20 to 30 minutes of this workout twice or thrice a week is great to lose belly fat.

The core muscles help in providing you enough energy to push further every day and workout well to lose weight. Building one’s core muscles also help in raising the metabolism of the body.

6. Push hard

Pushing yourself hard to workout during the hard part of the workout process and then slowing down during the easier part is extremely good. It has the same effects as interval training and it also helps in developing endurance as well as building muscle in the belly area.

Research shows that people who don’t push harder will slow down with age and will not be able to push hard even if they wanted to. Therefore, it is a good practice to go that extra mile.

7. Body weight exercise

Some people might not want to buy any equipment and invest in something that would only occupy space. For such people and in fact for anyone, using their own body weight to workout is great! It might feel that workouts that use only body weight might not be effective; however, it is known to kill belly fat the best. There is no other workout that can work as effectively as body weight workouts and resistance training.

8. Different tools

Working out can become boring after awhile. It is, therefore, important to start introducing different kinds of tools to make it interesting. Tools can be anything from resistance bands to sandbags. As long as there is variety, the mind will want to keep working hard without getting bored of working out. One of the reasons why gyms do so well is because of the variety of tools that they can offer a person. Even if you do not want too invest in expensive tools, there are cheap options that you can implement without having a negative impact on your pocket.

9. Fasting

Many people think that it is crazy to fast. However, according to many researchers, fasting once a week or frequently enough not to put your body into deprivation mode is a great way to lose weight.

Nevertheless, trying to fast should be done with utmost precaution and should never be overdone. You can try and fast for 16-36 hours every week and then continue with your normal dieting and working out pattern.

Fasting helps in flushing out toxins and is extremely healthy. However, fasting for more than 36 hours can become very dangerous and should not be attempted.

Working out so hard and dieting can make your body strong and cause your metabolism to rise. However, if you want the best out of your workout, you should consider hydrating yourself well.

Throughout the day, make it a point to drink at least 2-3 liters of water. Water helps in blood circulation and also keeps the muscles healthy and hydrated. If you do not drink enough water, you are most likely to get very exhausted or see a very slow weight loss because of water weight.
