At the start of 2013 I decided I really needed to change my lifestyle; quit eating the junk food, start eating more real food, lose weight and get fit. Three months in and it has definitely become a lifestyle, I eat good clean food that I cook from scratch, I avoid processed food, I drink my weight in water, I’ve switched from tea with milk and two sugars to green or white tea and I don’t drink any fizzy drinks.
At first it was hard but as I’ve gone on and discovered more healthy foods it’s got easier, you definitely need to be prepared for this lifestyle, I make all my lunches for work the day before so I’m never tempted by the sandwich shop and I always make sure I’ve got a fridge full of healthy foods.
I even joined the gym! I’ve always hated sport, P.E in school was my worst nightmare, I frequently hid in the girls toilets and begged my mum for sick notes. It’s early days but at the moment but I’m really enjoying it and I can already see results, I was never medically ‘over weight’ but I felt I was getting a little chubby – for me, plus I was so unfit and I just generally felt awful.
